To many (especially teachers), the No Child Left Behind Act seems to be one of the worst things to come out of the Bush administration, with its unattainable expectations for both the students and teachers.
 
NCLB has also been accused of not really helping schools or students, especially ones that are in poor neighborhoods. Not surprisingly, yet another problem has sprung from this NCLB dilemma: what has been happening with Maria Carillo.
 

Overgeneralizations have overrun American politics. Too often, people infer from the actions of a few people what entire organizations stand for. This is a dangerous habit, especially when people use it to justify irrational fear and anger toward others.

Perhaps the group that Americans like to generalize about above all others is Muslims. Islam has been associated with radical groups like al Qaeda and the Taliban, so it is easy to see why Americans stigmatize it.
